Got my ingredients and starting the "mixtressing" tonight!
I am so excited!! Right now, I have herbs soaking, and all of my emulsifiers, surfactants, etc. ready to go. Hopefully all goes well!

I'm very impressed with your initiative - the only hair concoction I've ever made myself is an ACV herbal infusion. Love to try making my own poo bars, though!
Good luck {{fingers crossed})

Thank you so much, everyone!
Last night...well, instead of a cleansing conditioner, I made a huge batch of foam, haha. Today, I added much more conditioner, much less cleanser, and I got a nice, moisturizing cleansing conditioner Or conditioning cleanser? I'll have to try it out. This is so exciting(: I actually squealed when it came out right today!

Well, the "cleansing conditioner" didn't quite work as planned...BUT, I had some leftover herbal infusion and oat milk (which is supposed to be beneficial to the scalp) so decided to try again! I added some gentle surfactant, glycerin, honeyquat, apricot oil, and guar silk. Upon trying it today, it had a wonderful lather! It really reminded me of Shea Moisture Retention, but more cleansing. The conditioner I made worked pretty well but smelled sooo bad! I think it was the broccoli seed oil. I might try it again but with pumpkin seed oil because the smell is just too strong and giving me a headache (very sensitive to smells....) Also, I want to make it thicker.
I'm still trying to get the formulas down and work out some kinks, but this is so much fun! I love it!

I love just reading about it! It's like Breaking Bad. But with curls, not drugs. And minus the Greek tragedy. Okay, maybe I'm playing pretty fast and loose with the comparisons here.
