Recs for a drugstore moisturizing conditioner with no protein or aloe & low glycerin
I tried co washing and that was a no go. I have tried using GVP Balm but it makes my hair frizzy and just looks horrible. I have read that maybe the humectants in the GVP Balm are just too much for me to use in this Central FL weather. So now I am looking for a replacement that I can use daily that doesn't contain proteins and has humectants lower in the ingredient list. I am also trying to avoid aloe because I think that it dries me out as well. At this point I don't care if it has cones as long as there aren't too many because I notice that heavily coned conditioners break me out. Is there anything that I can pick up at Walmart, Target, CVS, or Walgreens that fit this bill? I am at the end of my rope.

You can try any of the suave naturals (I like the coconut or the clarifying) conditioners for co-washing, and have used the coconut as a LI), or the vo5 Shea cashmere is awesome as a RO or LI.
I'm not sure what conditioners have low humectants, tho... :/
A lot of people like Yes to... Line, and I love Shea Moisture's line. Idk if that helps, but some things to try, I guess!

Sadly, V05 in my area has been phased out to include only the ones that contain protein like the Kiwi or the Coconut one. Which is part of my problem. I find something and then it's gone.
Suave makes my hair feel gross and doesn't provide enough moisture. Plus, I noticed an increase in shedding while using it. Shea Moisture has proteins. I also tried the Ever line from Loreal and had to take back because the smell gave me a migraine.

Shoot! Sorry, Heather! Somehow I missed the part about proteins!
Renpure Organics Argan is protein free, I am pretty sure. I'm not sure about its humectants, tho.
That's a tough one to sort out with your set of preferences! My hair loves protein, so almost everything I have is packed with it. :/

Last time I bought some, Garnier Fructis Body Boost was protein free. It's decently moisturizing without being heavy. Slip is good too. I usually need protein, so this isn't my daily conditioner, but when I need a little moisture, this works for me as both rinse out and leave in.
If you're ok with perhaps needing an occasional low poo (it has amodimethicone in it) and your hair tolerates a fair amount of oils in a product, Renpure's Argan Oil Luxurious Conditioner is great. It's protein and glycerin free, and the only humectant I see in the currently posted ingredients list is sorbitol, which is low on the list. The higher amounts of oil in it should help lessen the effect of the sorbitol too.
I have the old formula, which was cone free. It's too much moisture for a daily rinse out for me, but if I need a lot of moisture, I grab this. It's also my go to leave in for low dews. I get great curl formation, even without a gel.
