Default How long can you wear your hair before it looks straggly?

I think I can go no longer than my shoulders with curly hair. I am thinking maybe a long bob would be the style to wear. I really wanted to grow it longer but it just isn't working as my hair is fine and pretty thin

How long can you wear your hair and have it look healthy and its best?

I'm the same as you, fine-ish hair, fairly thin and can't let my hair get past my shoulders as it just looks straggly and scruffy (for want of a better word). I generally get it cut in a longish bob (I need to be able to tie it up) and when it starts getting past my shoulders I know it's time for a trim.

With uniformly long hair and no short layers I suffer from even more "root droop" than I already have. Though it's really curly, I don't like the way the hair just flops in my eyes/face when it's longer. I want as much root lift as possible, which for me means less length around the crown area.

Also, when it's all one length (shoulder length or longer), it weighs itself down and it's less curly. I prefer it curlier.

If I bob mine it doesn't seem to straggle no matter how long it gets...If it is all one length it just looks like long thick hair.

Layered I can't go much past bra strap length, there just isn't enough there and the ends would be too thin.

I was just thinking I need to get it cut. I can only get to about shoulder length when it gets straggly. Fortunately, I think a shorter bob is more becoming to me anyway.
