growing dyed/bleached hair long
Hi curlies,
has anyone experience with growing dyed and/or bleached hair long (long, like past apl/bsl)? Was it difficult to maintain?

loves: CJ products, jessicurl rocking ringlets, proteïn, co-washing, leave-in conditioner, diffusing, air-drying, pineapple method.
hates: glycerin in low dews, bleaching too much

I went from shoulders to bum with bleached blond (like almost white) hair. LOTS of coconut oil was the trick I think! I straighten a few times a week, and was using boxed bleach (Herbal Essence Gel if you're looking for one) and have almost black hair.....I was hard on it!
Always in great shape though, like crazy soft, people touch it all the time good shape
I don't check this section often, so feel free to PM me if you have any questions

good for you curlycanadian! Not a lot of curlies can do all those things with their hair and not damage it!
Does someone else have experience with growing dyed/bleached hair long?

I've bleached my hair since it was quite short (chin length) and continued bleaching until it was just past my shoulders. I've now gotten it all the way to BSL. It did for sure grow pretty slowly during that time but I'm sure it was because while I was bleaching it, I didn't know much about healthy bleaching and did the foil method of bleaching over and over already bleached hair :S eek. Also, I didn't know much about hair cair and treatments and oils etc so wasn't taking care of it very well. Now that I've grown it out to BSL though and it has gotten pretty healthy in that time, I do want to put some highlights back in because I LIIIIVE to be blonde but will obviously do them well and not my entire head AND continue with good treatment. I really hope I can keep growing it out well and that it stays fairly healthy with the highlights so it gets even longer. I'm stoked!!!
I've really struggled with the bleaching and growing out dilemma but I think it IS possible to do it. It might grow a little slower and posssibly loosen curl a bit, but if all is done correctly and carefully, I don't think it makes a huge difference. I think the key is a lot of care and to be careful when re-doing it not to bleach over already-bleached hair (which was my first mistake). I think it can be done. Good luck!!!

Long hair
Long hair should not be combed so many times because each time going through the lost hair comb.
→ Long hair is not always open carry, thereby avoids too frequent combing.
→ Tie long hair never with rubber bands, which destroys the hair Instead, it uses rather thick velvet or wide bands of fabric, this strain the hair less.
→ Color long hair as little as possible or not drown, or bleach Should it be necessary to use gentle products
→ Use high quality combs without sharp edges, Sharp edges of combs can damage the hair's surface Avoid strong pull or tear!
→ Protect your hair in the summer or in the solarium with a hat or scarf from the UV rays. No protection could mean that the hair is lighter and more porous.

thanks for all this advice and supporting words! I really should were a scarf around my head to protect my hair in the solarium. Everyday I want long hair so bad and off course it's taking such a long time if you think about it every day xD (what do they say about that in english? a boiling pot doesn't boil when it's wached?)
My last trim was about 3.5 month ago and I sometimes dust a little but still, my ends are quite good since I went CG
