Default Updo troubles

I have to wear my hair up for work and usually do a low side bun or pony but does anyone have any other ideas? Variety is nice after all, and does anyone else find when they take their hair down afterwards the curls are nearly straight or really loose or just messy?

Hey hey! My fastest updo style is a high ponytail with the curls pinned down so that it looks like a very curly bun.

Also, I've been really into braids lately. There are SO many cute ones out there. Youtube is wonderful for hair ideas!

I second the curly bun idea, but my favorite updo lately has been a sort of French twist - gather hair in a low pony, then twist up and secure with a few Goody spin pins. Easy, looks good, and done in 2 minutes!
