Skin care regimens can vary from season to season; does yours?
Dear CurlyNikki: Nikki, your skin is so clear and even. What’s your regimen?
Water does wonders
Dear Jennifer: Believe it or not, I don’t have a skin regimen. I’m not a makeup person, and while I may dibble and dabble in the occasional eyeliner or mascara, I don’t wear any foundation. There’s a tinted moisturizer by SmashBox I like (and recommend), but still usually opt for a bare face with a dab of lip gloss.
With that said, I cleanse my face twice daily—with water only most days, and probably twice a week with Cetaphil’s Daily Facial Cleanser. I also love the Yes to Cucumbers Face Cleanser Towelettes. I apply Cetaphil’s Daily Facial Moisturizer every morning after washing my face, and pure shea butter every night before retiring. That’s it!
I’ve never had acne-prone skin, but my monthly visitor usually brings about a HUGE, monstrosity of a pimple… right in the middle of my chin. I let it do what it do, because when popped, leaves a horrible hyper-pigmented spot that lingers for months. For my skin, less is definitely more.
That’s mine, what’s yours? Does it change with the seasons?

I agree less is more. I notice that I cannot wash my face with cleansers everyday, even gentle ones like neutrogena cream cleanser, can over dry my skin especially in the winter. Whether I use a cleanser or not a moisturizer is manditory. I like oil of olay. I use the pink lable (original) during the summer and the yellow lable (complete) during the winter.

I like Clinique’s 3 step skincare system. I have oily skin and this system works wonders. I agree with you about putting less product(s) on your face. I never wear foundation. I only concealer if I have an outrageous pimple that refuses to go away.

I have to use Mary Kay products – cleansers, moisturizers, acne treatment gel, AND make-up or I break out no matter WHAT the season! …I just have shiny, oily skin all year round.

Gotta say I’m a Simple girl. I love their product line, and I have sensitive skin, but it’s oily in summer and dry in winter. So I use there Refreshing facial wash gel 2x a day, in the morning/night. I also use there Protecting light moisturizer w/SPF 15 & at night vital vitamin night cream. In winter I use the same cleanser but add the vital vitamin day cream because it has a richer consistency.
